UPDATE: Lightning hit a tree at the Potter County Fair Tuesday, and injured two adults and a child who were nearby.

Shinglehouse Ambulance personnel say the lightning struck a tree close to a goat barn.

The adults and child were inside the barn when the lightning struck. They were taken to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport for treatment of minor shock, and then released.

Five other people were checked out by paramedics, but they were OK.

At the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds, a carnival worker was hurt when he fell 15 to 20 feet off a ride he was taking apart.

Dunkirk firefighters say the accident happened at around 6:30 last night. He was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital for treatment of back pain.

Several people were reportedly struck by lightning this afternoon at the Potter County Fair.

At least three people were taken to the hospital for treatment, but a number of others refused treatment.
