A severe thunderstorm made its way east across Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties in New York as well.

There was a mandatory evacuation for tent campers at Allegany State Park. Campers were offered refuge in the administration building or a refund for today.

Detour around Route 646 in Aiken -- Rew to Farmers Valley to Smethport -- because of trees blocking the road

Big 30 practice -- for both PA & NY -- is cancelled tonight because closed roads are making it impossible for some players to get to the practice.

Also, Lewis Run Bingo is closed because trees are blocking roads there.

Numerous trees and power lines are down throughout McKean County. Some of the major roads affected are Route 219 just north of Tack’s Inn, routes 770 and 59 and Rock City Hill.

Trees are also down in Cyclone, Gifford, Otto Township and, in Smethport, a tree is down on a building, and roads are affected in Smethport as well.

Near Petrowax in Keating Township a utility pole is leaning into the road.

Some of the downed trees caused fires in the power lines.
